Dane’ja Agu-White, West Plains basketball, Jr.

On the Court: Agu-White has steadily improved her game throughout the season and was a major catalyst to helping the Lady Wolves win their first two playoff games in program history last week.

West Plains won its first postseason clash beating Midland Greenwood 76-32, then rallied from behind to take down El Paso Riverside 51-42. The shifty point guard came in clutch in both of those games scoring 16 points, pulling down four rebounds with four assists.

Those totals sit right at Agu-White’s average on the season as West Plains court general has poured in 16 points a game with four assists a night.

Coach Kevin Richardson: “Dane’ja has learned the point guard position and is making great decisions. She is able to score we always knew that, but she can open up more things when it comes to distributing the basketball and she always makes big plays when she needs to. She’s always coming in clutch for us. She’s extremely versatile and is under control so much more than last year. She gets us set up and makes us a completely different team when she’s on the floor.”

Agu-White: “It’s been a really fun season with my teammates and coach (Kevin) Richardson. We have team dinners and just have a great time together. I feel I’ve tremendously improved from last year and it’s been awesome to see us get three rounds deep in the playoffs. I am asked to do a lot, but I love having the ball in my hands, controlling the offense and distributing the ball to my team. I like that I’ve been able to adapt, and I have grown because of it.”
