Broxton Robinson, Panhandle, QB, Soph.
The sensational sophomore took his dynamic play from the regular season and amped in the opening round of the playoffs leading Panhandle to a wild 93-54 win over Tahoka in a bi-district clash on Friday night. Saying Robinson was spectacular is almost an understatement. Robinson threw for 294 yards with five touchdowns and ran for 218 yards with four more TDs accounting for 512 of the Panthers 616 yards of offense. If that wasn’t enough, Robinson returned a kickoff 88-yards for a 10th touchdown on the night.
Corey Stancell, Farwell, RB-LB, Sr.
Stancell, a four-year senior and leader of the Steers, showed his value during Farwell’s 42-21 bi-district victory against Olton. Stancell chewed up the Mustangs for 189 yards rushing on 13 carries with three touchdowns and totaled 12 tackles with a pair of interceptions on defense.
Pratt McLain, Gruver, RB, Sr.
McLain is the heart and soul of a Gruver team that is getting better by the week. In the Greyhounds 49-14 rout of Shamrock in a bi-district clash on Friday, McLain showed exactly why by posting 141 yards rushing on 13 carries with two scores.
Max Dumbauld, Canadian, WR, Sr.
The underrated wide out that can get lost in the shuffle with Canadian’s multiple skill weapons had a career outing during a 62-7 blowout win of Littlefield in the bi-district round. Dumdauld was all over the field as a valuable weapon for QB Camren Cavalier snagging five catches for 122 yards with two touchdowns.
Dawson Hall, West Plains, OL-LB, Sr.
The two-way starter made a major impact on the defensive side of the ball that helped bring home another gold ball for the West Plains Wolves in a lopsided victory over Clint, 41-14. Hall always does his job as a part of a fantastic offensive line but was all over the field against Clint racking up 14 total tackles.
Cooper Schilling, Perryton, QB, Fr.
Schilling didn’t show any nerves making his first career playoff start as the freshman was on point the entire night helping Perryton roll past Fort Stockton 58-27 in the bi-district round. Schilling was smooth the entire way picking apart the Panther secondary going 31-of-41 for a career-high 461 yards with seven touchdown passes.
Kyler Read, Dalhart, QB, Sr.
Read did an amazing job adapting to a Denver City team that took away the run game in a very competitive bi-district game on Thursday night. Though Dalhart was able to pull away 40-28, Read had to go through the air than his normal ground and pound style with his 6-foot-2, 220-pound frame. Read was superb with his passing game against the Mustangs going 19-of-25 for 319 yards with five touchdown tosses.
Coltyn Fulton, Tascosa, QB, Soph.
Fulton played his best game to date under center for a Tascosa Rebel team that’s hot at the right time. During a 50-25 win at El Paso Del Valle, the sophomore ran right over the defense for 227 yards on 18 carries with three touchdowns.
Kagan Davis, Sunray, WR-DB, Jr.
Davis doubled up with a tremendous effort on both sides of the ball as the Bobcats handled Wheeler 66-16 a bi-district matchup on Friday at Perryton. On the offensive side, Davis was a go-to target for QB Armando Lujan hauling in five catches for 108 yards with a touchdown. On the defensive side, Davis was in on five tackles and added an interception.
Collin Miller, Randall, WR, Jr.
Randall had no problems with Burkburnett cruising to a 48-28 victory, and Miller had no issues torching the Bulldog secondary showing just how dangerous he can be in open space. The junior finished the game making five catches for 161 yards with a touchdown.
