Perryton had that shutout and grew.

Plainview (2-1) at Dumas (5-1), 7 p.m.

Non-district for these two;

Both would love a W, it’s true.

Dumas at home is a lock;

Bushland (4-2, 1-0) at River Road (3-4, 0-1), 7 p.m. The Wildcats play at another level at home but the Falcons are flying high on a three-game win streak. … Bushland 35, River Road 17.

Friona (5-1, 2-0) at Childress (6-1, 2-1), 7 p.m. This winner of this District 3-3A Division II clash will find themselves in a much better playoff position at the end of the regular season. … Childress 34, Friona 20.

Dimmitt (0-7, 0-3) at Canadian (5-1, 2-0), 7 p.m. There’s not much stopping the Wildcats from earning their Texas Panhandle-best 40th straight district win. … Canadian 50, Dimmitt 6.

Class 2A

Panhandle (4-2, 1-0) at WT High (3-3, 1-0), 7 p.m. This was the premiere game a year ago and it still has a lot of luster. The Comanches put up over 80 points and 800 yards on the Panthers a year ago. Expect more fireworks in the 2020 version. … Panhandle 56, WT High 36.

Farwell (5-1, 1-0) at Sanford-Fritch (0-6, 0-1), 7 p.m. The Steers are rolling with no signs of slowing down anytime soon. … Farwell 42, Fritch 13

Olton (3-3, 0-1) at Boys Ranch (0-6, 0-1), 7 p.m.

This is a matchup that didn’t happen but Olton will finally get to play after two weeks. … Olton 30, Boys Ranch 16

Bovina (2-4, 1-0) at Ropes (5-1, 1-0), 7 p.m. Healthy and confident Bovina showed what it was capable of beating Sudan last week. The Mustangs will for sure want to keep this winning way going. … Bovina 27, Ropes 21

Sunray (4-3, 1-0) at Stratford (2-4, 0-0), 7 p.m. Two old rivals are back in the same district after some time a part. Over the years these two teams have produced some dandy’s either in the regular season or the playoffs. As of late though the Elks have had the Bobcats number and want to keep it that way. … Stratford 34, Sunray 21

Memphis (3-4, 0-1) at Wellington (6-0, 1-0), 7 p.m. Nobody may be playing better football right now at the small school level than the Skyrockets. … Wellington 40, Memphis 16

Shamrock (4-3, 0-1) at Wheeler (5-1, 0-0), 7 p.m. It’s another installment of the Battle of Wheeler County. There is absolutely no love lost between these two towns separated by 16 miles on Highway 83. … Wheeler 30, Shamrock 19.

It’s a shame it’s being played in Week 8 and not the final night of the regular season. White Deer came into the season as favorites, but the Cowboys have had the more impressive start. I like Happy’s defense and Stetson Jamison to get W. … Happy 70, White Deer 40

Valley (5-0, 1-0) at Claude (2-5, 0-1)​, 7p.m. The Valley Patriots have continued their undefeated season into district play. There’s no reason it doesn’t continue Friday night. … Valley 63 Claude 27

Petersburg (4-3, 1-0) at Kress (4-3, 1-0), 7 p.m. Petersburg is riding high after taking out Nazareth in a district opener last week. The momentum carries into Kress on Friday. … Petersburg 57, Kress 43

Hedley (4-3, 1-0) at Miami (3-3, 0-0), 7 p.m. The Owls have been the feel good story of the season, but the Warriors are an up and coming team that may be ready to make an impact now. … Miami 66, Hedley 34

Claude (2-4, 0-0) at White Deer (4-2, 0-0), 7 p.m. ​This is the start of a tough district. The Bucks need to pick themselves up after a loss last week. … White Deer 58, Claude 24

Nazareth (3-3, 0-0) at Petersburg (3-3, 0-0), 7 p.m. ​The Swifts are riding high after upsetting White Deer in Week 6, but they cannot overlook this Petersburg team. The Nazareth defense will be the difference maker. … Nazareth 62, Petersburg 35

Follett (6-0, 0-0) at Lefors (0-5, 0-0), 7 p.m. ​The Panthers are in it for blood this year. They’ve been to the top and to the bottom in recent years and are ready to be back in the mix for a state championship. It starts Friday night in Lefors. … Follett 72, Lefors 44

Darrouzett (0-5, 0-0) at Hedley (3-3, 0-0), 7 p.m. ​The Owls snapped a three-game losing skid last week, and are now looking at an opening for a playoff spot. A win Friday has them going in the right direction. … Hedley 57, Darrouzett 22

Saturday’s game

Wildorado (5-1) vs. Chillicothe (2-2), 1 p.m. at Claude. The Mustangs are staying hot heading into their final nondistrict game. The Eagles should give them a nice tune up to prepare for the district season. … Wildorado 63, Chillicothe 44
