1. Perfect through seven

The same two Six-man teams, Valley (5-0) and Follett (7-0, 1-0), remain perfect after Week 7. Both teams were able to mercy-rule their opponents Friday as Valley took out McLean 45-0, and Follett bested Lefors 70-20.

2. Nazareth’s roller coaster season continues

It’s been up and down every week it seems for the Swifts. A week ago, Nazareth was on a high after upsetting then No. 4 White Deer 74-50. But the inconsistently came back as the Swifts lost their District 2-1A Division I opener to Petersburg 56-32 on Friday. Already behind in the standings, the Swifts have to start keep playing a high level if they want to make a run.

3. Groom continues to climb

Groom was looking forward to a measuring stick game against the No. 1 team in Division II, Balmorea. This game was unable to happen so the Tigers picked up a solid Springlake-Earth squad. The Wolverines didn’t match Groom’s speed of Gunner Lamb and Braedon Williams, as the Tigers torched Earth 90-40. Lamb threw for 215 yards and three touchdown passes while Williams piled up 135 yards with five rushing TDs.

4. Bucks bounces back

The Bucks were shocked by the Swifts last week and knew they had to get things turned around. Upset about their loss, White Deer was out for blood, winning 68-6 at halftime. The Bucks ran wild as six different players found the end zone on the ground. Karson Ketchum led the team with five carries for 68 yards and a touchdown.

5. Hedley gets big win

In an already great season for the Owls, Hedley secured their first district win of the season against Darrouzett 53-8 Friday night. Hedley in the past 5 years had a combined 1-13 record in district play. The Owls (4-3, 1-0) continue to turn the ship on a program that desperately needed a good season.

6. Wildorado cruises

It’s the same story every week with this team, great defense creates great opportunity for the offense. That was the case once again in this game as the Mustangs defeated Chillicothe 56-8. Wildorado is really finding its groove on both sides of the ball this season outscoring their opponents by a total of 253 points through 6 games. Running back Harris Albracht led the way for the Mustangs picking up 337 total yards with five touchdowns
