Since opening the season Canyon has established themselves as a state contender to be reckon with. The Eagles proved that once again Friday night behind senior signal caller Defoor. In a 40-3 domination of Borger, Defoor was able to pick a part the Bulldogs completing 22-of-31 passes for 248 yards and an impressive five touchdowns.

Hunter Dyer, Pampa, Jr. WR

Pampa’s wIde receiver Dyer has established himself as a go-to target for quarterback Jack Studebaker. Dyer was a mismatch in the Denver City secondary during a 73-28 blowout of the Mustangs snagging seven balls for 121 yards and two touchdowns,

Fabian Hernandez, Spearman, Jr. RB

The Lynx continue to roll opening up the year with a 4-0 record after blowing out Vega, 49-7 on Friday. Junior running back Fabian Hernandez bullied his way through the Longhorns defense getting in on the offensive mix for 174 yards with a touchdown.

Hernandez also get in on the mix going for 174 yards rushing adding a touchdown.

Emmanuel Ibanez, Dumas, So. DB

Ibanez was fantastic for the Demons during a 62-26 route of Levelland on Friday. The sophomore defensive back got it done on special teams 48-yard punt return for a touchdown. Defensively, Ibanez tallied 11 total tackles to go with an interception.

Avian Cruz, WT High, Sr. QB

dual-threat QB has found his groove, leading West Texas High to back-to-back wins. During Friday’s home victory against previously unbeaten Sunray, 42-27, Cruz rattled off 117 yards on the ground for two scores and passed for over 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Luke Betzen, Nazareth, Sr. QB-SB-TE

Betzen took over for the Swifts leading his team to a thrilling 66-64 victory at Paducah. Betzen scored the eventual game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter, on top of totaling 385 yards of offense with nine touchdowns.

Betzen threw for 228 yards with five TD tosses, rushed for 98 yards with three more scores and added a receiving touchdown.

Betzen even made 7.5 tackles on defense.

David Rascon, Wheeler, Sr. RB

The Mustangs galloped to a 65-0 shutout of Highland Park and Rascon was a big reason why. The senior standout had a team-high 179 yards on 16 totes collecting three TDs.

Xavier Hammett, Dalhart, Sr. RB

The senior running back led a dominant ground game that chewed up 296 yards and 49 unanswered points in a 49-21 route of Friona. Hammett punched in three touchdowns on 88 yards rushing.

Ethan Fuentes, Bushland, Sr. RB

Fuentes helped his team wear down Stratford during a 35-14 win Friday night by grounding out 109 yards on 16 carries with two scores. Fuentes even made three catches for 53 yards adding another score.

Genaro Luna, Memphis, Sr. RB

The Memphis senior ran for a team-high 109 yards on 16 carries, and scored the eventual game-winning 2-point conversion during the Cyclones hard earned 8-6 win against Sanford-Fritch.
