Avian Cruz, West Texas High, Jr. QB

The lightning quick junior put on one of the best showings the Texas Panhandle has seen in quite some time during a 77-52 win over Panhandle. Not only did Cruz make an ESPN highlight worthy hurdle over a defender for a score, but he amazed by totaling 672 yards of offense by himself with eight touchdowns. Cruz threw for 490 yards, throwing for five TDs and ran for 182 yards with three more scores.

Jonah Villanueva, West Texas High, Sr. WR

Cruz wasn’t the only Comanche burning up the turf against Panhandle. Villanueva had a season worth of stats in 60 minutes. The senior was a mismatch for the Panthers secondary, catching a career-high and school record 16 catches for 348 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Villanueva finished his night averaging 21.8 yards a catch.

Joseph Plunk, Tascosa, Sr. QB

The dual-threat quarterback helped the Rebels punch a ticket to the postseason with a 31-15 win at Odessa High. Plunk ran the option to perfection, putting up 139 yards on 21 carries with a score. On the season, the senior signal caller has ran for a team-high 1,521 yards and 20 TDs.

Dallan Dill, Dumas, Jr. LB

Dill continues to prove how good he and the Demons defense is after holding an explosive Pampa to 194 yards of offense during a 38-15 district win Friday. Dill, a junior leader, was all over the field making seven total tackles, two of which were for a loss.

Trent Mayden, Childress, Sr. QB

Fair Park Stadium turned into a playground for the Childress senior QB, as the Bobcats clinched the No. 2-seed out District 3-3A Division to with a 48-21 against Spearman.

Mayden had a carer-night, going 13 of 16 for 312 yards and three touchdowns.

Britt Cave, Hereford, Sr. QB

Cave was impressive as Hereford earned its first district win against Canyon, 28-22.

The senior signal caller played an outstanding game, throwing for 236 yards on 15 of 26 passing with three touchdowns.

Sylvester Ballard, Clarendon, Fr. RB

The Broncos pulled off the upset of the night by downing Gruver 28-14, and it was a freshman leading thexway. Running back Sylvester Ballard had 19 carries for 168 yards with a pair of scores.

Fernando Garza, Shamrock, Sr. OL-DL

The big fella’s performance was a catalyst toward launching the Irish into the playoffs 59-38 against Monday. The 6-foot-2, 260 pound, two-way lineman provided the defense, making a game-high 13 tackles, with three tackles for a loss and a sack. Offensively, he grades out at 93 percent and even ran the ball for a a 2-point conversion.

Kenny Diaz, Highland Park, Sr. RB

Diaz caught a 31-yard touchdown pass, followed by running in a 2-point conversion for the eventual game-winning score to sink Sunray 22-20, advancing the Hornets to the playoffs. Diaz was big all night for Highland Park, rushing for 108 yards with two scores. Defensively, Diaz made 13 tackles and forced a fumble.

Caden Farmer, Sanford-Fritch, Sr. QB

Farmer and the Eagles had a successful homecoming by blowing out Boys Ranch 54-8. Farmer did most of his damage witg his legs, chewing up 223 yards with five touchdowns. The victory punched the Eagles ticket to the playoffs.
