1. Tarleton (5-0, 3-0): It was a tougher test than some thought, but No. 4 Tarleton stayed undefeated pulling away from feisty Angelo State 30-13. The Texans keep a firm grip on the top spot in the conference, and have now won 11 straight Lone Star Conference games dating back to last season.

2. Angelo State (4-1, 2-1): The Rams proved they are for real despite a 30-13 loss at No. 4 Tarleton. ASU’s defense held the Texans to a season-low 423 yards of offense. The Rams host Western New Mexico on Saturday.

3. A&M-Commerce (4-1, 2-0): It was a ninth straight win for No. 20 Texas A&M-Commerce against rival Texas A&M-Kingsville in a 33-6 rout. The Lions broke open a close game at half thanks to a 21-point third quarter. TAMC plays host to struggling MSU-Texas on Saturday.

4. E. New Mexico (4-1, 2-1): Coach Kelley Lee and the Greyhounds scored 10 fourth quarter points to rally past MSU-Texas 27-24 to earn a key LSC road win. Running back Paul Terry, the league’s leading rusher with 887 yards, earned LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors rushing for 225 yards and a score.

5. MSU-Texas (3-2, 1-2): The Mustangs dropped their second straight conference game in heartbreaking fashion to ENMU. MSU-Texas rallied from a 17-3 deficit to take a 24-17 lead, but couldn’t hang on, falling 27-24. The Mustangs try and avoid their first three-game losing skid since 2005 at Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday.

6. W. Texas A&M (4-1, 1-1): WT had to hold on late but won its Homecoming game 48-41 over Central Washington. The Buffs offense has come a long way from a year ago. WT ranks second in the LSC, averaging 41 points a game. The Buffs jump back into conference play when they travel to UT Permian Basin on Saturday.

7. W. New Mexico (1-4, 1-1): The Mustangs snapped a 14-game losing streak dating back to 2017 with a stunning 47-28 home win against UTPB. A victory like that moves WNM two spots up in the power rankings. Tip of the cap to first-year coach Frank Tristan on his first win with the Mustangs.

8. UTPB (2–3, 0-3): It was a rough trip to Silver City for the Falcons, falling to Western New Mexico, 47-28. UTPB was devastated by seven turnovers in the loss.

9. A&M Kingsville (1-4, 0-3): Struggles continue for the Javelinas as the offense sputtered against Texas A&M-Commerce. TAMK mustered 32 yards on the ground and 233 total yards for the contest. The Javelinas steps out of LSC play to host Western Oregon on Saturday.
