District 4-4A

District 4-4A is going to see a frantic ending heading into Thursday’s final game of the regular season with four teams vying for three playoff spots.

The Canyon Lady Eagles did their part to stay in the postseason hunt defeating Borger 11-1 on Tuesday. That puts the Lady Eagles (21-8-2) in a third-place tie with Pampa and West Plains at 8-5. Maddie Hight delivered the offense going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Bayleigh Burks added a two-run home run in the win.

West Plains saw its hot play cool off falling to District 4-4A champion Dumas 14-4 on Tuesday. The Demonettes (28-3) keep on cruising through district at a perfect 13-0. The Lady Wolves (12-13-1) are now 8-5 tied with Pampa and Canyon for third. West Plains hosts Canyon in a very important matchup at noon Friday with playoff implications on the line. In the win, Dumas slugger Lisbeth Quiroz had two home runs finishing the game with five RBIs.

Randall is now all alone in second place and clinched a playoff spot by beating Pampa 12-7 on Tuesday. The Lady Raiders improve to 23-9 but are in the playoffs currently sitting 9-4 in District 4-4A. The Lady Harvesters are still fighting for a postseason berth falling to 8-5. Macy Swindell provided a three-run triple for Randall against Pampa to help get the victory.

District 3-5A

Caprock ended the regular season on a high-note shutting out Plainview 11-0 on Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Longhorns are now 9-7 in league play and in the mix for the final playoff spot with Lubbock High and Lubbock Monterey. Caprock (13-10-1) has a bye during Thursday’s regular season finale.

Grace Morales went 2-for-4 at the plate with a homer driving in three runs. She also tossed five innings scattering two hits with five strikeouts.

Tascosa was victorious beating Palo Duro 14-1. Kassidy Langeland had two doubles with three RBIs.

District 1-3A

Childress is currently holding the No. 1-seed out of District 1-3A Division II after blanking Tulia 18-0 on Tuesday. The Lady Bobcats (13-11-1) are 5-4 in district leading Canadian (17-9 overall, 4-5 in district) by a game for third place in the league and one game for the top spot in D-II. Childress will play at Canadian on Thursday to decide that seed. Against Tulia, Ansley Parr was 3-for-3 including a triple and an RBI. Parr also threw five shutout innings with 11 K’s. Teammate Journey Prince followed going 3-for-4 with two triples and five RBIs.

River Road clinched its first share of a district championship in seven years with a 13-0 run-rule victory against Canadian. The Lady Wildcats (22-6, 9-0 in district) can win their first outright title since 2018 if they can defeat Bushland on Thursday. Carolyn Koval had it going against the Lady Cats throwing a no-hitter over five innings with 11 strikeouts. Koval also added a solo homer. Ava Sharp added a two-run homer in the victory for her 50th career long ball.

Bushland stayed a game back of River Road defeating Dalhart 12-0. Bushland (16-13) is 8-1 in the league and can clinch a share of the district title with River Road if they beat the Lady Wildcats on Thursday. Chayney Snelson feasted on Dalhart pitching going 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs.

District 1-2A

It was a big afternoon for the Sunray Lady Bobcats getting a 14-3 victory against Gruver on Tuesday. The win puts Sunray at 6-3 in district. The Lady Hounds fall to 9-2 in the league. Lexi Gomez had a big outing for Sunray with a 4-for-4 day that included a double, a triple and she scored three times.

Sanford-Fritch used the big bats to beat Highland Park 24-8. The Lady Eagles pounded out 19 hits with seven extra base-hits in the victory. Bryleigh Carr tripled on a 3-for-5 day with five RBIs. Kinley Roberts added four RBIs with a triple, and Lexi Bidwell had a three-run homer and totaled five RBIs.

District 2-2A

A huge afternoon from twin sisters Tandie and Kennadie Cummins lifted the Clarendon Lady Broncos to a 2-1 victory against Floydada. The Lady Broncos clinch a share of the District 2-2A championship with the win improving to 7-1 in district and 19-5 overall. Kennadie Cummins hit the go-ahead two-run home run that put the Lady Broncos up 2-1 in the fifth inning. Tandie Cummins pitched all seven innings allowing one run.
