West Plains claims first ever District 4-4A title
The West Plains Wolves made school history by claiming the programs first ever district title thanks to a 61-50 road win at rival Canyon on Tuesday night at the Joe Lombard Gymnasium.
The Wolves not only move to 25-4 on the season, but are now an impressive 12-0 in District 4-4A to take the league crown. Canyon falls to 24-7, and 9-3 in district, and still maintain second place overall.

West Plains guard Kaden Hooker went for a team-high 22 points and knocked down 10 free-throws. Teammate Ethan Gilliam used his big frame in the post to add 12. Clayton Wilcox led the Eagles with 17.
Dalhart gets big win
The Dalhart Golden Wolves went on the road and picked up a big 40-35 win against Canadian on Tuesday night during a District 1-3A clash.
With the victory, Dalhart (24-3) moves to into first place in the district at 7-1. The Wildcats (15-7) are now in second at 6-2.
Maddix Blanco scored 16 points, putting the senior over 1,000 points for his career. Teammate Hunter Trusler also tacked on 16 points in the win.
TUESDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS
- Cuda Clayton of Palo Duro went off for 33 points during the Dons 84-81 big road win at Lubbock Monterey.
- Zane Schulte of Nazareth had the hot-hand during the Swifts 94-55 win against Kress. Schulte was incredible lighting up the Kangaroos with 37 points.
- Valley’s Damian Valdez kept the Patriots unbeaten in District 8-1, posting a double-double with 34 points to go with 10 assists in an 87-33 win over Guthrie.
- Amarillo High’s Jax Richards tallied 11 of his team-high 16 points in the second half that help lift the Sandies to a 41-40 win against Lubbock-Cooper.
- Pampa took one step closer to a playoff spot with a 63-50 win over Dumas. Dalton Booth and Jose Alonzo were the catalyst, combining for 40 points. Booth and Alonzo each had 20 points a piece.
- Jenner King of Bushland helped the Falcons bounce back, dropping in 27 points during an 85-41 win against River Road.
- Raine Walsh of Childress scored a game-high 20 points behind four, 3-pointers in a 71-42 Bobcats victory against Tulia.
- West Texas High kept its winning ways going with a 61-26 win against Vega. Standout Cayde Winters had it going the entire game, scoring a team-best 19 points.
- Olton’s Sebastian Sparkman poured in a team-high 17 points to lead the Mustangs to a huge 63-57 win over Farwell.
- Texline completed District 3-1A a perfect 10-0 behind a 92-34 drubbing of Hartley. Hadley Crisp made sure that happened, scoring 14 of his team-high 20 points in the first quarter.
