Weekend’s top performers

Boys

Palo Duro’s Jamie Carillo scored a pair of goals with an assist, while teammate Dominique Gomez added a goal and two assists in a 6-0 blanking of Tascosa on Saturday.

Braden Wilson of Amarillo High made a penalty kick midway through the second half that lifted the Sandies past Caprock, 1-0, on Friday.

Borger’s Julian Tarango tallied a goal with an assist as the Bulldogs stayed perfect in District 2-4A thanks to a 2-1 win against Pampa.

Girls

Tascosa earned its first ever District 3-5A win with a 2-0 shutout of Palo Duro on Saturday. Emme Sherwood and Carly Stockard each scored in the victory.

Amarillo High’s Lilly Sobey dished out three assists as the Lady Sandies blanked Caprock 5-0 on Friday.

Erin Folkner of Canyon netted a pair of goals with an assist during a Lady Eagles 8-0 victory against Dumas.
