Tristan Chambers, West Plains soccer, Jr.
On the pitch: The West Plains Lady Wolves were able to open district play with a 4-2 victory against Borger last Thursday. Chambers played a key role to help lift the Lady Wolves to that victory with her play all over The Pitch. Chambers, a junior, had a hand in all four goals for West Plains, scoring a goal of her own, and then tacking on three assists.
On the the season, Chambers has scored six goals with eight assists for a West Plains team that is off to an 8-3 start.
Head coach Amberlee Gerald: “We brought Tristan up to varsity this year and she has been tremendous for us. She is playing with a ton of confidence and she is a huge reason we are playing well right now. She can play multiple positions, and what I love the most, she is always willing to learn and get better. She is never satisfied, and she is always looking to improve after every game. I love that she attacks more and wants to score. Again, I think that comes with her confidence.”
Chambers “I feel like we’re playing good as a team and we have all bonded really well. It’s been scary being on varsity, because every game feels like high stakes. I’m just trying to gain more confidence as each game comes and I’m wanting to get better as the season goes on. I want to continue to attack more and help my team anyway I can.”
