On the court: The University of North Texas commit is having another unbelievable season and it showed in a pair of wins last week against Dumas and rival Canyon.

Last Tuesday, in a five-set thriller against Dumas, Soria dished out 36 assists to go with 12 digs for a double-double adding six kills. In a huge win over rival Canyon last Saturday, Soria once again was on point with another double-double effort tallying 36 assists with 15 digs and chipped in eight kills.

On the season, the sensational senior is closing in on 1,000 assists currently sitting at 969 assists with 246 kills.

Coach Karli Morrison: “I already knew what type of player Sidney was and what she was about when I took the job at Randall. Even a great a player as she is, it’s been great to see her continue to develop and not get complacent. Her serving is better, she has more control of the offense and she’s a great leader. She has bought into being a leader and she does such a great job with the young players and getting them to figure out their roles. We all trust her as a player.”

Soria: “This is a fun team to play on and we all have a great mindset which is welcoming. We all play for each other and want what is best for the team. I know my role needed to change being a senior. I didn’t want to get complacent on the court. I wanted to keep getting better and I wanted to be the right leader and positive influence we needed. I’m proud of this team and how we’re playing.”
