Thacker finished with a silver medal individually firing rounds of 72 and 76 for a 36-hole total of 148. Thacker will now make her unprecedented fourth straight trip to the UIL Class 5A state tournament for the Lady Sandies after finishing fifth individually last season.

Thacker has been a part of four of the Lady Sandies six trips to the state tournament in program history.

Head coach Skyler Walden: “Your number one goal is to always advance. It’s just the sixth time this program has advanced but it’s the second time since 2021. I think with this team they’ve really bonded and it’s a close-knit group. They play for one another, and they all are one another’s biggest fans. Charlee is a leader for us on and off the course. I can’t say enough about her. She does anything asked of her, and she puts in the work. She’s the first one to practice and she’ll be the last one to leave especially if she’s working on a part of her game that she feels needs improving. I can’t wait to see what she does at state.”

Thacker: “This team is incredible. We all have a great relationship and it’s been so much fun this season. I knew we had a chance to win it going into regionals. We had a hunger to win it again and play for one another. We put ourselves in a great position after day one and then did what we needed to do to win it on day two. We all have great chemistry and we put the work in. We’re so deep we’ve had to split the team but we all do great things and it’s been so exciting and we’re all looking forward to the state tournament.”
