On the diamond: Coming off a knee surgery early in the fall, Adams has recovered and playing at a high level for a Bushland Lady Falcons team that is blistering opponents through the early portion of District 1-3A play. During wins over River Road, 12-0, followed by a 17-0 shutout over Canadian last week, the junior standout went a combined 5-for-9 at the plate with two doubles, a home run and driving in a total of six RBIs. If that wasn’t enough, Adams was magnificent in the circle throwing five shutout innings against River Road with seven strikeouts, and then pitched four scoreless innings against Canadian with eight K’s. On the season, Adams is hitting an eye-opening .571 with 20 doubles, five homers and five triples and has driven in 31 RBIs. In the circle, Adams is 14-5 with an ERA of 1.90 racking up 118 K’s.

Coach John Blair: “Brylee had a knee injury last summer and she was cleared just before the season started. She’s been wearing her brace and now everything is getting better and better. Her hitting and her pitching are lights out. She is throwing as well as anyone and her hitting is just on another level. Anytime we have baserunners on she always gives us a great chance of scoring when she’s at the plate. Her role has changed more where she is a leader, but that’s more by example. She doesn’t like to do the talking. She goes 100 percent in practice and always has the best attitude. I love how she always means business.”

Adams: “We have really come together as a team especially since we started having team dinners. You can see the chemistry we’re playing with and it’s just getting better. For myself, I feel I’m fully back from that injury and starting to play my best. I love to hit but I love to pitch so getting to both is the best. I just want to continue to get better and help my team as much as I can. My role has changed, and I’m more of a leader this year since we lost four seniors.”
