On the court: It has been a great start to District 3-5A play for Sanchez and her Randall Lady Raiders. Last week, Randall defeated both Caprock and Palo Duro thanks to sizzling performances from the freshman. Sanchez tallied 21 points during a 62-42 win over Caprock. Sanchez then turned around and poured in a season-best 25 points as the Lady Raiders blew past the Lady Dons 76-39. On top of her great offensive numbers, Sanchez also averaged three steals in both wins. On the year, the smooth shooting Sanchez has improved by the week averaging 13.8 points a game.

Coach Brooke Wallthall: “Sadie is a really nice player, and has a really great energy about her. She loves playing the game and loves her teammates. Not only is Sadie a great scorer, but she also makes her teammates better in everything she does. I love how she continues to grow. Teams have been scouting her, but she has adapted. She’s very coachable and just wants to get better every game she plays in.”

Sanchez: “I feel like I’ve been playing pretty good, but I know I have a lot to improve on each game we go out and play. Whether it is my passing, or shooting, or defense, I just want to keep getting better. I love seeing how much better our team is getting. We have great chemistry, we’re all playing together like a family, and we’re always just there for each other.”
