From Junior High to Varsity – Special Moments and Strong Bonds

Coach Gerald’s journey has taken her through multiple roles at West Plains and other area schools, including coaching volleyball, cross country, basketball, and track.

Her most memorable moment? Winning against Randall in West Plains’ inaugural season—a victory that brought the team together and set the tone for a strong finish.

She credits her “lucky” cross necklace and consistent game-day hair as her personal superstitions, always keeping her connected to her purpose.

Unique Talents, Whataburger Rituals, and Storm Chasing Dreams

Her players might be surprised to learn she can make a train whistle sound with her voice! Her go-to pregame meal is a mushroom swiss burger from Whataburger (when available).

If not coaching, she’d be chasing storms as a meteorologist specializing in severe weather.

The best advice she’s received: “Don’t forget to enjoy your time with your teams—you only get one year with each group.”

Hardworking, Driven, Caring

Described by her team as hardworking, driven, and caring, Coach Gerald is fueled by 2000s punk rock and rap in her office.

Her favorite sports movie is She’s The Man, and Facebook is her must-have social media platform.
