The high school cross country season is back and full swing and it that was on full display Saturday morning at Canyon High School as the very unique Canyon 6-mile relay got underway to kick off the season.

As expected, the Canyon Eagles and Lady Eagles stole the show in the big school divisions with the boys team setting a new course record for the event.

The Canyon boys’ team of Grady Simmons, Jamison Kirton, Domenic San Miguel and Noah Cooper set the tone of what they hope is a big season by setting a new meet record by almost two minutes. The four-some clocked a 6-mile time of 29:53.92 beating the previous time of 30:19 set in 2023.
