Bull stay hot after another sweep of Brahmas

The Amarillo Bulls stay red hot earning a second straight weekend sweep of the Lone Star Brahmas on Friday and Saturday at the

NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills.

Both North American Hockey League South Division games were hard fought victories for Amarillo, which improves its winning streak to five straight.

The Bulls won a 3-2 shootout on Friday, followed by a 1-0 shutout on Saturday.

Charlie Glockner (3-1) recorded the first shutout of the season for the Bulls during Saturday’s win, stopping all  in game two of the all nine shots that came at him

Amarillo defenseman Lauri Sertti was Friday’s hero. Sertti scored a goal in the second period, then made the Bulls lone goal in the shootout to help get the win.

The weekend sweep brings the Amarillo to 8-3-0-1 (17 points).

The Bulls trail division leader Topeka (11-4-1, 23 points) by six points.

Lone Star falls to 9-3-0-1 (19 points).

The Bulls will be back on home ice hosting the Fairbanks Ice Dogs from the NAHL Midwest Division on Friday and Saturday at the Amarillo Cal Farley Coliseum Civic Center Complex.
