On the court: Smtih had a historic performance during Randall’s record-setting 126-90 win over Hereford last Friday in a District 4-4A matchup.

The 126 set a new school-record for points in a game for the Raiders while Smith set a new school-record for points pouring in an eye-opening 50 against the Whitefaces. Smith was red-hot from the floor the entire way knocking down nine 3-pointers. On top of his scoring performance, the standout guard added eight rebounds with seven assists.

On the season, Smith is averaging 15.2 points a night.

Coach Trevor Johnson: “I didn’t have a clue how many points he had until my assistant Tanner Strickland told me. The entire team was shooting the ball so well, but we made sure when we knew when Christian was close, he’d get 50. Christian has come so far this year. He came off the bench for a state semifinal team last year and now he’s a leader and a valuable scorer. We’re playing well at the right time and he’s a big reason why.”

Smith: “I wasn’t keeping up with the points and I was shocked when we found out and I was closing in on 50. It’s awesome to get but I can’t do anything without the team around me. We played a very tough schedule so far and we’ve dealt with so much adversity. We’re starting to come together, and everything is clicking for us right now.”
