Ascension Academy boys win TAPPS District 1-2 track and field title

The Ascension Academy boys track and field team won the TAPPS District 1-2A championship while the girls team finished in second place. [Provided photo]

The Ascension Academy track and field teams were the showcase at the TAPPS District 1-2A track and field meet in Lubbock on Friday.

The Ascension boys won the team championship with 107 edging Lubbock Southcrest which finished with 103 points. The Ascension girls team came in second by one point of a team championship. The Lady Cardinals had 115 points to come in runner-up to Lubbock Kingdom Prep with 116.
