3 things that happened on Friday night 

Palo Duro stays hot

Palo Duro stayed unbeaten in District 3-5A after getting a lopsided 83-46 victory over rival Caprock at home on Friday night.

The Dons (15-7) are a perfect 3-0 in league play with a big test against Amarillo High (25-3, 2-0) coming on Friday night. Audi Luckey continued his hot streak by scoring 26 points to lead Palo Duro.

Bushland gets big road win

The Bushland Falcons rebounded in a big way by going on the road and beating rival Canadian 38-30 on Friday night.

The Falcons (11-8) improve to 2-1 in district while Canadian falls to 3-5, 1-2. Grant Whaley scored 11 points and added 12 boards for a double-double. Teammate Cole Purcell chipped in with 10 points.

Friday’s top performers

Amarillo High forward and senior leader Cooper Pillion finished with 17 points during a Sandies win over Plainview 60-24.

Childress guard and recent Trinity University football commit, Lamont Nickleberry, poured in 23 points in a road victory against Lubbock Roosevelt 81-66.

Jack Pipkin dropped in 21 during Spearman’s 69-33 win over Tulia. The win kept Spearman undefeated in District 1-3A.
