HS Soccer roundup: Palo Duro boys stays hot; Randall girls roll

District 3-5A roundup

The Palo Duro boys soccer team stayed unbeaten in District 3-5A earning a hard fought 1-0 shutout over Randall on Tuesday night at Dick Bivins Stadium.

The Dons run their season record to 14-1-2 overall and 2-0-0 in district. Randall falls to 5-8-2 overall and 0-2-1 in district.

After a scoreless first half, Palo Duro was finally able to nab the game’s lone goal when Adrian Ruiz found the back of the net off an assist from Jaime Carrillo in the 71st minute.

The Caprock boys also stayed perfect in District 3-5 by blanking Tascosa 4-0 at Dick Bivins on Monday evening. Joel Gijon scored a goal, and tacked on an assist in the victory.

Caprock improves to 8-3-3 overall and 2-0-0 in league play. Tascosa falls to 5-7-1 overall, and 0-2-1.

On the girls side, Randall had knocked off Palo Duro in convincing fashion 8-0 on Tuesday.

Alli Ingham highlighted the night for the Lady Raiders netting an eye-opening four goals. Teammate Sydney Lanigan chipped in with two goals and an assist, as Kealy Juarez dished out two assists with a score. Palo Duro drops to 3-7-1 overall and 0-2-0 in district

Randall 11-2-1, and 3-0-0 in District 3-5A. The Lady Raiders have a showdown looming with Bell Street rival Amarillo High (12-2-0, 2-0-0) at 5 p.m. Friday at Happy State Bank Stadium.

Palo Duro is now

Caprock and Tascosa played to scoreless tie Monday. Lady Longhorns goalie Cali Dennis made three saves. Lady Rebels goalie Vicki Miriles made five stops. Caprock is now 6-9-2, 0-1-1. Tascosa moves to 3-10-1, 0-2-1.

District 4-4A roundup

The Pampa boys pulled off a big District 2-4A victory doubling up defending district champion Borger, 4-2, on Tuesday night.

Harvester standout Justin Martinez tallied a hat trick in the win.

Pampa runs its record to 11-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in district. Borger drops to 4-7-1, 1-1-0.

Dumas grounded the Canyon Eagles on Tuesday night with a 5-1 win.

The Demons get its first league win improving to 1-1-0 in District 4-4A and 3-8-0 overall. The Eagles are now 3-11-1, 0-2-0.

Miguel Estrada scored two times for Dumas. Noe Estrada added a goal with an assist

On the girls side of things, Canyon rolled over Dumas by a 6-0 count.

The Lady Eagles were led by Bryleigh Burks, who had a pair of goals, and dished out three assists. Kadence Penner chipped in finding the back of the net twice.

Canyon is off to a 2-0-0 start to District 4-4A, and 7-8-1 overall. The Demonettes drop to 2-8-1, 0-1-1.

Pampa and Borger played to a 2-2 draw. The Lady Harvesters record is 6-8-1 overall and 0-1-1 in district. The Lady Bulldogs go to 1-10-2, 0-0-2.
