Texas Panhandle and South Plains High School Football standings as of October 19th

There were plenty of top performances on Tuesday night. Sanford-Fritch standout Emma Williams was celebrated on Senior Night during a win over West Texas High for going over 1,000 kills earlier this year. West Plains moved into a tie for third place with Hereford by beating Perryton at home. Sophie Williams led the Lady Wolves with 19 assists and three aces. Randall stayed locked into to a tie for the top spot in District 4-4A with Canyon thanks to the play of Kambree Gonzalez and her 20 digs, and Pampa pulled off a victory at home over Dumas with Haili Mae Newton landing a team-high 16 kills.

This coming weekend is shaping to see quite the showdowns that will determine district championships and sort out key playoff spots. There is non bigger than the matchup at 5 p.m. on Friday night when Tascosa visits rival Amarillo High. The Lady Rebels beat the Lady Sandies in the first meeting and now both teams currently sit at 16-1 in the league. The winner not only brings home the district crown but they’ll also take the top spot in the Class 5A Division I playoffs. Sanford-Fritch will travel to Vega looking for a win to win a second straight outright district championship, and Abernathy visits Tulia for a district showdown.

Take a look at the updated standings and all the final scores from Tuesday’s action across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains with the weekend schedule included.
