Players to watch
Colton Strickland, 5-11, 185-pounds, QB-LB, Sr.
With the departure of quarterback Quaid Ferris to Frenship High School this past spring, Strickland is now in competition for the starting quarterback position. Strickland is a leader and will serve well in that role if given the opportunity. He’s also a very talented linebacker that had 83 tackles with a pair of interceptions last season.
Jenner King, 5-11, 170-pounds, WR-DB, Sr.
The Falcons always seemed to be gifted with high-flying receivers on the edges, and this season isn’t any different. King gives Bushland a weapon on the outside with his dangerous speed. Last season, King hauled in 32 catches for 537 yards with five touchdowns.
Jaxon Lawler, 6-4, 250-pounds, OL-DL, Jr.
Lawler has made major strides in the offseason and over the summer and he’s starting to catch the attention of Division I scouts across the country. Lawler has great size; he’s explosive and coach Reynolds is optimistic this is going to be a breakout year for the junior.
