District 3-4A Girls

Randall and Borger collided this past Saturday, at Bulldog Stadium in a District 3-4A matchup that saw the Lady Raiders stay red hot downing the Bulldogs 4-0.

The Lady Raiders Lady Raiders got off to a quick start, when Ryann Davis was able to put a header past the Borger goalie only 2:11 into the contest, giving Randall the early 1-0 lead. Layla Williams extended Randalls lead a few minutes later giving Randall a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Midway through the second half, Williams added her second score of the match then Kyndal McClain put the game out of reach sneaking a goal in. Randall was also able to defeat Dumas 6-0 with Ryan McClain netting two goals and an assist.

The Lady Raiders remain unbeaten in District 3-4A at 10-0 and 14-5 overall.

The Lady Bulldogs did get a win against Pampa 4-1 earlier in the week. Brooklyn Cano led the team with two goals and an assist. Borger (10-5) currently sits in fourth place in the district race at 6-4.

District quick hits

West Plains kept pace with Randall notching two shutout victories against Pampa 7-0 and Hereford 10-0. The Lady Wolves (12-3-2) remain a game back of Randall in the district chase at 9-1. Mya Bartlett continued her stellar season adding seven goals with three assists in the pair of wins.

Canyon secured two wins over the past week blanking Hereford 5-0 and Perryton 3-0. During the pair of victories, Aspen Esch did the damage with three goals and an assist. Canyon (7-10-1) stands at 7-3 in District 3-4A.

Tascosa took home a 3-0 shutout over Lubbock High on Saturday. Tabitha Fowler, Alaina Gomez and Lindsey Talamante scored the goals. The Lady Rebels are now 8-2-1 in District 3-5A and 8-4-2 overall.

Amarillo High tallied 17 goals without giving up a score in wins against Plainview and Caprock this past week. Sophia Hernandez did the bulk of the scoring for the Lady Sandies with a hattrick against Caprock and another score in the win over Plainview. AHS is rolling at 11-0-1 in District 3-5A and 14-1-1 overall.

Palo Duro took home two ties with Lubbock Cooper and Lubbock Coronado. Branda Zepeda combined for two goals in both games. The Lady Dons (5-7-5) are 2-5-4 in league action.

District 3-5A Boys

Amarillo High had a tremendous week, taking down Plainview 2-1, and then stunning Caprock 2-0 on Friday.

Davian Pina and Clay Goodrich carried the Sandies in both contests with a goal apiece. Rian Derrick made 21 stops in net as the Sandies move to 7-6-2 overall and 4-5-1 in District 3-5A.

Following the loss to Amarillo High, Caprock also fell to Lubbock Monterey 2-1 on Saturday. Fernando Lira had the lone goal for the two games for the Longhorns. Caprock slips to 8-3 in district and 12-4 on the year.

District quick hits

Palo Duro remains in the fourth playoff spot in District 3-5A after and 8- 0 victory over Lubbock Coronado. Angel

Macias registered a hattrick with teammate Gael Garay adding two goals with an assist. The Dons are 7-4-3 overall and now 4-2-3 in district Action.

Tascosa fell to Lubbock High 1-0 in the only match the Rebels had last week. Tascosa (9-5-2 overall) is currently siting at 4-5-1 in District 3-5A.

Dumas and Perryton battled to a 2-2 tie in a key District 3-4A showdown. Josh Samarripa highlighted play for the Demons scoring both goals. Oziel Ramirez and Jose Bautista scored the goals for the Rangers. Dumas went on to blank Randall 3-0 improving to 8-1-1 in District 3-4A and 11-2-1 overall. Perryton handled Canyon 7-0 moving to 8-1-1 in district and 10-6-1 overall.

West Plains kept its district title hopes alive downing Hereford 8-2 and beating Pampa 5-1. The Wolves (13-3-1) are right in the mix with Dumas and Perryton at 8-1-1 in district. Pampa was able to beat Borger 3-1 pushing the Harvesters mark to 4-4-2 in the league and 8-7-3 overall.

Borger did get a win at Randall 4-2 led by Justin Saucedo’s two goals. Borger (8-10) is now 5-5 in league action.
