On the court: Palo Duro’s senior leader has the Dons off to a great start to the year and is coming off a big week leading his team to wins over Caprock and Plainview.

Against Caprock, Juarez scored 16 points with three rebounds and three assists. He then followed that with a tremendous effort in a 55-53 win at Plainview. In that that tough road victory, Juarez played outstanding pouring in a game high 28 points, four rebounds with a pair of assists.

On the season so far, Juarez leads the Dons averaging 24 points a night.

Coach Marques Loftis: “We’re a young team this year and Victor has done a great job of maintaining the scoring and being a leader for us. He leads by example of how he plays on the court. He’s a hard worker that shows so much toughness and that reflects on the younger guys.”

Juarez: “This season is starting off great and I’m thankful we’re improving together each and every week. We all work hard together, and this young team is really coming together. The game is really slowing down for me from last year. I just want to keep being patient, helping my team and keep winning games.”
