2023 resume

Head coach: Kurt Haberthur, second year at Gruver, 10-3. 12th year overall, 65-58.
2023 Record: 10-3 overall, 4-0 in District 1-2A Division I. Class 2A Division II regional semifinalist.

Returning starters 

Offense: 8
Defense: 6
Season opener: vs. Spearman, 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

Players to watch 

Briggs Satterfield, 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, QB, Jr. 

Satterfield came on the scene in a hurry with a fantastic sophomore season for the Greyhounds. The dual-threat QB got better by the week throwing for 2,281 yards with 26 touchdowns and then used his feet to stack up 1,033 rushing yards with 14 TDs.

Stephen Cowan, 6-foot, 170-pounds, WR-DB, Sr.

Cowan found his role in a hurry after transferring to Gruver last year. Cowan made a major impact on both sides of the ball especially on the defensive side making 138 tackles, nine for a loss, with three interceptions.

Walker Maupin, 5-foot-9, 170-pounds, RB-LB, Sr. 

The brother of Texas Tech Lady Raider standout, Bailey, is making his own name in a Greyhound uniform. Being part of a stacked backfield, Maupin made the most of his carries rushing for 681 yards with eight touchdowns.
