On the course: The Wildorado Mustangs put together two superb rounds 323 and 345 for a 36-hole tally of 668 to win their second straight Region I-1A championship last week.
Corman once again led the way for the Mustangs winning his second straight individual Region I-1A title shooting a 76 on day one followed by an 80 on day two for a total of 156.
Corman helped Wildorado to the UIL Class 1A state championship last year finishing fourth individually and hopes to help his team repeat the team title this year.
Head coach Kellan Kirkland: “It was awesome to see this team go back-to-back and win another regional championship. We had a really late start because we went deep in basketball, but these guys have put in the work, and I think the regional tournament really boosted their confidence. We didn’t get to play in a lot of tournaments leading into the regional, so it took time to get adjusted. Hunter is always successful whether it’s golf or whatever he does. He’s a starter on the basketball team, he’s a leader for us and his work ethic is always impressive.”
Corman: “It is an honor for our team to win back-to-back regional championships. Our team works very hard every day to get better at a sport that we love. We are so blessed to be a part of a team that has a drive to win, hold each other accountable and to push ourselves to be the best we can be. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and give all the honor and glory to God. Winning these titles also means that the work isn’t done, and I have to continue to push myself to get better.”
