Just like in Class 1A, it will be an all-Texas Panhandle final in the Region I-2A championship.

The Lady Blue and Lady Skyrockets each took home double-digit victories in Friday’s semifinals at the Texan Dome in Levelland.

Farwell opened the night with a 43-26 handling of Christoval. Wellington followed in the nightcap by pulling away from a very solid New Home team 48-35.

Farwell (33-3) and Wellington (28-6) now meet up with a berth to San Antonio on the line at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Region I-2A championship.

The Lady Blue jumped all over a tense Christoval team from the opening tip going up an eye-popping 17-0 by the end of the first quarter. The Lady Cougars (30-8) were able to regroup cutting the deficit 24-14 by halftime. However, the damage was done as Farwell pulled away in the second half as this game was never within reach for Christoval.

Chloe Witten led Farwell with nine points and Kennedi Richie added seven.

Wellington had a much different battle. The Lady Leopards and Lady Skyrockets were tied after one then Wellington held a slim 24-20 lead at intermission.

In the second half, Wellington gained momentum taking a double-digit advantage in the third quarter. But in the fourth, New Home cut that deficit to six midway through the fourth but the Lady Skyrockets pulled away down the stretch.

Charley Wilbur was clutch for the Lady Skyrockets with a great outing scoring 27 points to lead the way.
