WT football releases 2020 football schedule

West Texas A&M announced its 2020 football schedule Thursday afternoon.

The Buffs schedule includes five home games at JFerg Field at Buffalo Stadium, and six road matchups in year four of the Hunter Hughes era.

The Buffs open the season with rival Azusa Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 5, before starting Lone Star Conference play in the home opener with UT Permian Basin on Sept. 12.

The rest of the home schedule sees WT face Western Oregon on Oct. 3 for Homecoming. The Buffs host Wagon Wheel rival Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 17, followed by games with Texas A&M-Kingsville on Oct. 31, and Texas Wesleyan on Nov. 14.

WT returns six starters on defense, to go with nine starters on offense, including five LSC All-Conference selections for a team that went 8-3 last fall.

The Buffs open the first of 15 spring practices on March 10.

Times for both home and away games will be announced at a later date.
