The Amarillo High Lady Sandies stood tall with a clutch 8-5 win at Bell Street rival Randall to take over sole possession of first place in the District 3-5A race Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Sandies, who avenged a 7-5 loss to Randall in the first meeting, now sit alone in atop the league standings at 6-1, improving to 11-8 overall. The Lady Raiders (14-10-1) fall back into a second place tie with Caprock at 5-2.
AHS had to rally for the hard earned win. Randall plated three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-4 lead. However, in the top of the sixth the Lady Sandies took the lead for good when Kylee Lansbury slapped a 2-run double to center scoring Ryleigh Robertson and Lindsey Elizondo, pushing AHS ahead 6-5. Moments later, AHS picked up some much needed insurance on a Tessia Guzman single that plated Kylee Landsbury for a 7-5 advantage.
After four strong innings from Tatem Pentagraft, Danae Lopez made the lead standup for the Lady Sandies working 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

Alaniz no-hits Lady Dons
Caprock pitcher Amyiah Alaniz tossed five strong innings to collect a no-hitter during the Lady Longhorns 21-1 victory against Palo Duro at home Tuesday.
Alaniz did allow an unearned run off an error, but never gave up a hit, tallying a total of eight strikeouts.
Alaniz was backed up with plenty of offense as Caprock piled up 20 runs in the first three innings. Kiera Chavez led the way going 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs. Jaelin Ornelas also slugged three hits including a double driving in a pair of runs.
The Lady Longhorns (9-6 overall) pull into a tie for second place in District 3-5A with Randall at 5-2. Palo Duro is now 1-11, 1-6.

Plainview run-rules Tascosa
Plainview’s Esme Lucio pitched strong in the circle and did damage at the plate that helped give the Lady Bulldogs a convincing 13-1 road win at Tascosa.
Lucio smacked two three-run home runs on the afternoon going 2-for-4 with a game-high six RBIs.
In the circle, Lucio was equally effective stifling Tascosa hitters over five innings of work, scattering three hits, and totaling nine K’s.
Plainview stays in the hunt for a playoff spot at 3-4 in district and 10-15 overall. The Lady Rebels fall to 5-13, 1-6.

Canyon takes down Perryton
Canyon made a long road trip up north worth it thanks to a 14-1 run-rule win at Perryton on Tuesday.
The Lady Eagles (13-7-2 overall) clinch a playoff berth staying perfect in the District 4-4A standings at 6-0. The Rangerettes drop to 5-10, 0-7.
Canyon slugger Danielle Burns delivered two home runs on the evening, tallying five RBIs.
Pitcher Kylie Knowles (12-5) was lights out earning the victory tossing all five innings, allowing only one hit with nine strikeouts.

Dumas dominates Hereford
Dumas jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead in the first three innings to roll past Hereford 18-5 for a road win Tuesday.
The Demonettes highlighted the offensive explosion thanks to a six run second inning. Melany Granados couldn’t be stopped piling up seven RBIs on a stellar 5-for-5 performance at the plate with a pair of homers, one of which was a grand slam.
Cami Velasquez added a three-run bomb in the win.
Dumas (11-9) is all alone in second place in District 4-4A at 5-2. Hereford has dropped its last two games falling to 6-18, 3-4.

Pampa sneaks past Borger
A pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning was just enough to get Pampa a hard fought 2-1 home victory against Borger on Tuesday.
With the game scoreless heading into the bottom of the fifth inning Lady Harvester leadoff hitter Celest Ostercamp drove a double to the left field gap plating both Jasmine Hanen and Reagan Dyer, giving Pampa a 2-0 lead.
Pitcher Kynleigh Kirby kept the lead intact with a masterful performance in the circle. Kirby out dueled Borger’s Natalie Chisum, going all seven innings, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts.
Pampa is now 4-3 in district with the win, and 11-6-1 overall. The Lady Bulldogs drop to 11-6-1, 2-5.

Bushland beats up Dalhart
A huge second inning kept the red hot Bushland unbeaten in District 1-3A, as the Lady Falcons dismantled Dalhart 33-2 at home Tuesday.
Bushland put the contest away early thanks to a 27-run second inning. The Lady Falcons bats were on fire with 18 of their 29 hits coming for extra-bases.
Avery Sena went 3-for-5 with a triple, and a home run to total six RBIs. Teammate Jaycee Adams followed going 3-for-4 with five RBIs.
Bushland (19-2-1) is an unblemished 6-0 in district. Dalhart falls to 8-8, 3-3.

River Road rolls
A fast start was all River Road needed during a 19-8 district win at home against Canadian on Tuesday.
River Road took advantage in a hurry opening up the game with 14 runs in the first three innings. Shiyan Lozano went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. She also threw all five innings of work, allowing two hits, no earned runs with eight K’s.
Makanna Cooper added a 2-for-4 day at the dish driving in two runs and scoring three times.
River Road (9-11 overall) improves to 3-3 in district. Canadian is now 3-18, 0-6.
