Players to watch

Armando Lujan, 6-foot, 180-pounds, QB, Sr.

The four-year starter and one of the most talked about players in the state is coming off a historic season leading the Bobcats to the state semifinals. Lujan threw for an outstanding 4,233 yards with 61 touchdowns while rushing for 1,042 yards and another 21 TDs.

Dawson Bennett, 5-foot-8, 155-pounds, WR-DB, Sr.

Bennett plays much bigger than his 5-foot-8 frame and is a dangerous asset for Sunray on both sides of the ball. Bennett was a go-to target for Lujan snagging 63 catches for 996 yards with 14 touchdowns. In the secondary, Bennett was a ball hawk grabbing seven interceptions, two of those for touchdowns, adding 31 tackles.

Arnold Mendoza, 5-foot-8 170-pounds, RB, Sr.

Behind a strong offensive line, Mendoza is a downhill runner that gives the Bobcats that physical element bringing the offense instant versatility. Last season, Mendoza was a workhorse out of the backfield toting the rock 146 times for 974 yards with five TDs. Mendoza also made 37 catches for 351 yards including five more touchdowns.
